23rd May 2006 - BCII Charity Cup Night

Can't believe another season has come and gone.  This was Bunky's last chance of silverware and BCII
(led by Ben as Rogers was scouting in Madrid) were ready, focused and up for it!
Danny replaced Rogers on the pitch, all else remained the same.  Disco, Russ, Gaz and Sean warmed
the bench should BCII need any help.  BCII were drawn away from MK Utd and Athletico, so all being all
a place in the final was well within reach.  MK ED no show meant one group of three and one group of four.

The first game against Inter wasn't that bad once BCII found their feet and started knocking the ball
about, although by then they were 1-0 down and never recovered.  I can't remember a BC shot on target.
It takes us longer than 7 minutes to warm up that's for sure and things had to improve in the second game.

The next game came around after some hysterical grass practice had taken place - boy are we in trouble
Saturday!  anyway up against Denbigh, it was a much faster, flowing game, but again were undone by a late
goal from Denbigh losing 1-0.  Gaz and Sean failed to turn it round in their 8 seconds of play - shame on you
BCI players! 

So with nothing to play for we played Argash in the last game of the night.  Ben had warmed Gaz and
Sean that they were on after 3 minutes or 1-0 down.  Must have been 45 seconds when Ben with a smile on his
face offered them that opportunity.  Gaz still had a fag on, so they had to wait!  Anyway that game ended up 1-0
again, consistent eh!  No one else had that kind of consistency all night, oh sorry MK Utd won 4 out of 4 in the
groups, but no one lost all their games 1-0 - all them trophies and not one for that!

So we went to the bar for our free pitchers of ale and some different to normal snacks?  One by one the
teams returned, Inter Minan first butthe rest were soon to follow.  Athletico Shenley beat MK Utd in the
final to win the Div 2 Charity Cup.  Between them Athletico Shenley and MK Utd picked up every
award, even runner-up trophies.  Bunky Chollox collected Ryan's Fair Play Award for 2005/2006. 
BCI had gone the whole season with no bookings and the most amount of points across both leagues. 
BCII would have won it for the club had Matty behaved.

2006/2007 here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
