In a shock result, a near full strength BC1 team took a real
pasting last night from MK Ed, currently
sitting just one place off the bottom of the league, with only one win this
season.
Despite some woeful passing in the opening minutes, quite
rightly BC1 opened the scoring after Sean had
chased down a ball on the left, turned inside the defence and struck low to
the ‘keepers right only for
the resulting save to find an unmarked Ritchie Moss who fired the rebound into
an empty net.
And that was it, in respect of the high points.
What followed was significant possession let down by ‘even
worse than woeful’ passing, little running,
no tackling and nothing of note between the Bunky posts either ….
MK Ed. defended deeply and broke with speed (albeit the snail’s
pace associated with the only team
older than BC1 in the league) but struck well when they had opportunities and
of their five shots, managed to
score four to romp home emphatically.
In fairness, even this performance could have seen BC1 gain
something … but we didn’t, so we should all just
move on and let it go. Dumped out of the cup and now crushed in the league
will perhaps make this
easier said than done, particularly if you now feel even worse having read the
match report.
Mind you, at least you don’t have to write it ….
