1st Nov 2005 - BCI vs. CDAC United
BCI 10 - 0 CDAC United
BC bounced back last night with an emphatic victory, recording
their highest ever win as they crushed CDAC 10-0.
With Sean and Rolfie restored to the first team, it took a while
to get off the mark before Rolfie received the ball on the edge of the area and
dinked it past the ‘keeper. Moments later, he recorded his second as he won the
ball from a loose throw to close in and again score from close range.
Bunky’s at this stage still looked a little tense as Richard Moss
squandered chance after chance (we play FOOTBALL Rich, not rugby) and the first
half ended 2-0 .. with am uneasy feeling that we may again end up regretting
missed opportunities.
Fortunately, it was not to be. The second half saw a much more
positive approach and Richard made it three just after the re-start, adding his
second and Bunky’s fourth with an excellent goal that saw him place the ball
just inside the near post from Sean’s cut back on the right.
Danny, on as a sub, then fed Sean, again wide right, to hammer
the fifth and he scored his second shortly after.
Danny then got into the act himself, with his first ever goal for
the might Bunky’s, placing the ball into the left corner after going clear on
goal following a ball from Gaz, who then followed this up with his own well
placed shot to that the ‘keeper could only parry into the net.
With BC1 now leading 8-0, the aim was to better the performance
from Athletico Shenley in the previous game and Danny equalled their tally by
slotting home the ninth a few minutes from the end.
The night wasn’t finished yet, however, with the best move of the
game ending in Sean collecting Danny’s pass and driving the ball home off the
far post to make it 10 and record his hat-trick.
It could have been more as Rolfie, also on for a hat-trick,
collected a pass from Gaz in the dying seconds but was unlucky to see the shot
rebound off the post.
On a night like tonight, even Russ tried to score, but his
woefully inadequate effort, when surrounded by opposition defenders,
demonstrates clearly why he plays in defence and why his scoring record is so
poor. In fact, it was greedy that he attempted anything at all, other than a
pass-back.
Greedy, greedy, greedy.
Greedy Russ.
10-0 though. Got to be pleased with that. Bunky’s are definitely
back with a bang.
Although, what did we have to celebrate afterwards…. San Miguel.
SAN MIGUEL! That’s for girls and holidays, that is. Rubbish. Sort it out
Shenley.
