With Back Page scandal in full
swing at the Mighty Bunky Chollox F.C. We've recently received the following
statement from the subject of many libellous accusations, Left Back Russ:
"It's disappointing that the
press latch onto, and misrepresent just snippets of comments. Taken out of
context, almost anything can be turned around and made negative."
He was then reported to say"I
can't play football... and never want to be part of.... Bunky Chollox again!",
however this reporter gained exclusive access to the full text of the
statement which read:
"I respect my Manager, who has
given me untold advice and guidance over the years. I can't play football for
any other club, and never want to be part of this media hyped bickering. I'm
hoping tomorrows fish and chip wrappers will see the last of it, and we can
all be part of the Mighty Bunky Chollox again!"
He continued, "Rich has always
been my cousin, and it upsets me to think that the press resort to players
families to elicit harmful rumours. You can criticise my football, but leave
my family out of it."
What's next in this spiralling
chapter for the club? We know that Manager Gaz has criticised Russ for his
individual team tactics, but what's been said about the secret 'substitution
agreement' leaked last Saturday? Surely the Manager has to take a firm and
equal stance with all his players?
